Michelle Higgins
Michelle Higgins began her dance journey at the age of three in Truro, Nova Scotia. Her early training in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern dance took place at several schools across the province, with additional opportunities to train both locally and abroad. Her foundational training was rooted in Truro Dance Academy and Cobequid Dance Academy, where she later spent a decade sharing her passion for dance as an instructor.
In addition to her dance background, Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Mount Saint Vincent University. Her academic training provided a deep understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and development—knowledge she applies both in the studio and in clinical settings. Her undergraduate thesis explored body image and eating attitudes among young dancers, reflecting her commitment to dancer health and wellness.
Michelle is a Registered Dietitian and currently works as a Clinical Dietitian in Neonatal Intensive Care, bringing compassion and expertise to some of the most vulnerable patients.
With a unique blend of artistic and scientific insight, Michelle is passionate about fostering healthy, supportive environments where young dancers can thrive both physically and emotionally.
