Hannah Mae Cruddas
Hailing from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Hannah Mae Cruddas began her dance training at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and the Leica Hardy School of Dance before being accepted into Canada’s National Ballet School during high school. Her early promise was recognized through numerous awards and scholarships, including those from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust.
Hannah Mae recently retired after an extraordinary 13 seasons with Ballet Jörgen, where she became a cornerstone of the company’s repertoire. She brought depth and artistry to iconic roles such as Anastasia, Coppélia, Juliet and Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, the Pas de Trois and Odette/Odile (understudy) in Swan Lake, and the comedic Stepsister in Cinderella. In Sleeping Beauty, she originated the role of the Lilac Fairy, and in 2019, Bengt Jörgen, C.M., created the title role of Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet® specifically for her.
Beyond the stage, Hannah Mae is a passionate educator and community leader. She has taught for Ballet Jörgen, Mocean Dance, DAREarts, CDTA’s Diamond Dance Summit, and at schools across North and South America. As host and community liaison for Jörgen Dance and George Brown College’s Virtual Dance Studio, she helps connect dancers and audiences through innovative outreach programs. Her community work includes collaborations with the Art Gallery of Ontario, SickKids, and St. Michael’s Hospital.
