Mackenzie Greenwell

MacKenzie Greenwell is a dynamic force in the Canadian tap dance scene. Originally from Cochrane, Alberta, he has spent the past 15 years traveling the globe as a performer, teacher, and choreographer, leaving his mark on stages and studios around the world.

A former touring cast member of the internationally acclaimed show Tap Dogs, MacKenzie has also served as a principal dancer with Toronto’s Rhythm & Sound Tap Company and was the choreographer for the Canadian National Tap Team in 2018. His work blends precision, rhythm, and musicality, earning him recognition as both a dancer and creator.

Now based in Nova Scotia, MacKenzie is deeply involved in the East Coast jazz and music scene. He is a member of the genre-blending band Game.Set.Trap, performing regularly throughout the Maritimes. In 2022, he appeared as a guest performer and musician in Votive Dance’s production WHODUNNIT?, continuing to explore the intersection of dance and live music.

Passionate about rhythm and collaboration, MacKenzie is dedicated to developing original work that unites tap and jazz—and aims to bring that fusion to jazz festivals and stages across Canada.
