Katrina Philip

Katrina has danced all her life. She received her BFA in Dance from Western Michigan University, where shortly after she interned at legendary studios such as Gus Giordano Dance (Chicago) and Broadway Dance Center (New York City). Katrina then  moved to NYC to live out her Broadway dancing dreams for the next sixteen years, being mentored by award winning greats such as Andy Blankenbuehler (choreographer /Tony award winner for ‘In the Heights’ and ‘Hamilton’), Joshua Bergasse (choreographer and Emmy award winner for ’SMASH’), and Chet Walker (co-creator of the Tony award winning musical ‘Fosse’) just to name a few. She has danced for several regional theaters across the country, toured, along with producing, directing, and choreographing her own dance showcases that were featured in numerous Off-Broadway theaters such as the MMAC, St. Luke’s on 46th, and the historic Dixon Place Theatre. In 2010 Katrina performed in the opening number for Broadway’s annual Easter Bonnet Special at The Minskoff Theatre (home of Broadway’s The Lion King) under the choreography and direction of Shea Sullivan. 

You can find Katrina teaching Theatre Jazz at Halifax Dance Thursday evenings from 5:30pm - 8:30PM.
