Halifax Dance is pleased to be announcing new staff members joining us at Halifax Dance. We are very excited about the future of the organization and all the great places these new additions will take us.
We are welcoming Kate Houston into the new role of Program Director. Kate will manage both the ITP and Recreation programs and will be a main point of contact for students and families. Kate’s formative dance years were spent at Halifax Dance. She is a graduate of École Supérieure de Ballet du Quebec and was a faculty member at The School of Cadence Ballet. Her knowledge of many programs including Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The National Ballet School, Jeune Ballet du Quebec and our very own Young Company make her well suited to her new role.
We are very happy to have Kate on board and will welcome her on May 15th.
Lastly, we welcome Jane Wooding to our ITP faculty as a ballet instructor. Jane is an examiner with the Cecchetti Society of Canada and comes with extensive experience in instruction with George Brown Dance/Ballet Jorgen Canada and Canada’s National Ballet School Teacher Training Program. Jane has also taught ballet on the faculties of York University and Quinte Ballet School of Canada. Jane is a superb addition to our faculty, and we are thrilled she will teach upper-level ballet starting in September 2017.
On behalf of the board of directors and current Halifax Dance Admin staff, we wish to thank Leah Hamilton and Catherine Walker for their hard work and dedication to this organization over the past four years. With their guidance, we have grown in many positive ways that have positioned our school for this exciting next chapter.
We encourage you to stop by and meet to our new additions over the coming weeks.
