Originally from Montréal, Québec, Julie studied classical ballet at l’École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec. After graduating, she joined the neo-classical company Le Jeune Ballet du Québec, continuing on to dance several ballet companies, including Ballet Ouest de Montréal & Le Ballet Métropolitain de Montréal as a corps de ballet member, touring extensively across Canada, the United States, and South America. In 2011, she obtained her Associate Teacher’s certification in the Cecchetti Ballet Method (CC-CICB) under the mentorship of Paula Urrutia.
Seeking to expand her artistic practice, Julie completed the Professional Dance Program at L’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2015. Since graduating, she has presented her own choreographic works, and has been part of several Montreal and Toronto-based dance projects. She is currently a dance artist for Mocean Dance in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Julie is thrilled to join the staff at Halifax Dance this year as a modern dance and ballet teacher.
